Journey to the highest peak of the Harz Mountains passing breathtaking scenery with the historic narrow-gauge Brockenbahn Railway from WaggonWerkstatt.

The Brockenbahn is one of the most picturesque railways in Germany and has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. Recreated here in Train Simulator you will drive from Wernigerode and ascend to an altitude of 1,125 metres as you climb to your destination at the Brocken summit. As you travel up the mountain you will enjoy dense forests, deep valleys, fascinating rock formations, charming villages, and stunning panoramic views of the Harz region. It’s not hard to see why this route is on the bucket list for many railfans.

Your engine for this historic journey is the BR 99.23 metre-gauge tank locomotive. Built by LKM Babelsberg in 1954-56. One of the most powerful narrow-gauge steam locomotives built for German routes, these were perfect for the challenging task of taking on the Harz Mountains. Along with this iconic machine the route includes appropriate passenger and packing cars as used on the real-life railway. All ready to use with Career, Standard and Quick Drive scenarios.

Discover the wonders of the Brockenbahn in Train Simulator.
